Bioethics faculty member to lead talk on fragile X carrier testing Feb. 21

Michelle McGowanThe Women and Gender Studies and Center for Women Research in Progress Seminar, presented in partnership with the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, will be titled “The Expansion of Fragile X Carrier Testing: Prospective Parenting, Moral Burdens, and Gendered Genetic Accountability.”

Michelle McGowan, assistant professor of bioethics, co-director of the PhD Program in Bioethics, and Women and Gender Studies Program faculty member, will lead the presentation. Her talk will take place Friday, Feb. 21, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women Conference Room, located on the third floor of the Thwing Center.

The Women and Gender Studies and Center for Women “works-in-progress seminar” is free and open to the public.
