The year-end holidays are a time for celebration and giving back to loved ones and those in need. During the month of December, we will highlight ways in which the Case Western Reserve University community works to help others both during the holidays and throughout the years.
Each year, Case Western Reserve University partners with Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services (NEON) for the tradition of the Giving Tree in the Thwing Center. This tradition allows members of the university community to help a local child’s wish come true. Individuals can pick an ornament with a wish off the tree and purchase that gift. All gifts are a maximum of $25.
The deadline to select a name off the tree is Dec. 6 and all gifts must be returned no later than Tuesday, Dec. 10. Thwing Center also accepts cash, checks (payable to CWRU) and speedtype for those who would like to have the shopping done for them.
Thwing Center sponsor 100 children who receive services through NEON through the Giving Tree.
Each year, with the help of Facilities Services, Thwing Center is able to deliver gifts to NEON that fill about four vehicles.
Those who would like to participate can select a wish off the tree in Thwing Center atrium by Dec. 6.
