Did You Know: Charity Choice

The year-end holidays are a time for celebration and giving back to loved ones and those in need. During the month of December, we will highlight ways in which the Case Western Reserve University community works to help others both during the holidays and throughout the year.

As the holidays quickly approach, so does the deadline for this year’s Charity Choice campaign, which ends Friday, Dec. 13. The Charity Choice campaign provides faculty and staff the opportunity to give back to the Greater Cleveland community by donating funds to an independent nonprofit of their choice, or one of three suggested federations: United Way of Greater Cleveland, Greater Cleveland Community Shares and EarthShare Ohio.

Last year’s Charity Choice campaign totaled $138,714 in contributions from 440 participants. These funds were distributed among 102 chosen independent 501(c)(3) organizations.

This year’s campaign, which began on Oct. 8, has since raised over $84,000, with more than 500 participants. While the campaign has surpassed the goal in terms of participants, there is still time to reach the contribution goal of $175,000. Please take the opportunity to contribute before the campaign ends Dec. 13.

Interested donors are able to contribute through payroll deductions—with the option for one-time or multiple payments—or by check. For more information on ways to donate, visit the Charity Choice campaign’s donation website.
