“Developing a Tobacco Cessation Training Curriculum to Promote Intervention Delivery Among Community Health Workers: Results from Mixed Methods Community-Engaged Study”

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to the next Prevention Research Center for Health Neighborhoods (PRCHN) Seminar Series event Wednesday, Dec. 13, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Marcia Tan, assistant professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at University of Chicago, will present “Developing a Tobacco Cessation Training Curriculum to Promote Intervention Delivery Among Community Health Workers: Results from Mixed Methods Community-Engaged Study.”

Tan is a licensed clinical health psychologist with a background in epidemiology, and her work focuses on health disparities in modifiable cancer risk factors, including tobacco use and weight gain, and cancer prevention among underserved populations. 

During this PRCHN event, Tan will discuss her study that highlights the critical need to use a community-engaged approach to better provide adequate, evidence-based care to underserved communities.
