All Case Western Reserve University undergraduate and graduate students are invited to design a New Year’s card for the Case School of Engineering; the winner will receive a $150 cash prize. The card should represent the school’s achievements and innovative image.
Submissions must include space for the dean’s signature to be printed and sign, as well as the Case School of Engineering logo somewhere on the card (even on the back). Entries will be judged on originality, embodiment of the school’s mission and vision and cost-effectiveness of the design.
The card could highlight one of the school’s four institutes: Great Lakes Energy Institute, the Institute for Advance Materials (Iam@case), the Technology & Health Institute at Case, or think [box]. The design also could highlight a particular student project and/or faculty research—anything that represents the school’s innovative reputation.
The cards will come from the new Case School of Engineering Dean Jeffrey Duerk (effective Jan. 1) and will go to alumni, donors and friends of the school as a way to introduce him to these important constituents.
The school will not keep exclusive rights to the design; however, they ask that the design not be sold or used until the card is mailed.
Final entries are due Dec. 12 to angela.puertas@case.edu.
