Haas, the Abba Hillel Silver Professor of Jewish Studies and chair of the Department of Religious Studies, weighed in on the recent Iran deal. “It is not clear what will emerge from the political, religious and ethnic struggles in Libya, Egypt, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, but it will certainly be different from what exists now,” said Haas.
