Department of Nutrition offers a lifestyle change program to prevent type 2 diabetes

Are you trying to make healthy lifestyle changes to prevent type 2 diabetes? If so, consider participating in the Diabetes Prevention Program beginning in January.

In the PreventT2 lifestyle change program, a trained lifestyle coach and fellow participants will encourage you to make healthy changes that will last a lifetime.

This program will help you:

  • Make healthier food choices without giving up the foods you love;
  • Add physical activity to your life, even if you don’t think you have time;
  • Deal with stress;
  • Cope with challenges that can derail your hard work—like how to choose healthier options when eating out; and
  • Get back on track if you stray from your plan.

The program will begin Jan. 22.

An information session will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, from noon to 1 p.m. in Biomedical Research Building, Room 932. Register for the information session.

The Department of Nutrition will offer this program.
