CWRU music boss David Ake drawing praise for his jazz album, ‘Bridges’ (Local Beat)
The Plain Dealer: David Ake, chair of the Department of Music, is drawing rave reviews for his newest jazz album, “Bridges.” The album’s success can be largely attributed to his visionary compositions and a quartet of renowned musicians. The result is a “balance of freedom and order,” he said. “I set up these structures for these extraordinary improvisers, and we see what happens.”
