David L. Katz, an internationally renowned authority on nutrition, weight management and chronic disease prevention and an internationally recognized leader in integrative medicine and patient-centered care, will be on campus June 19 for a Grand Rounds speaking event.
His discussion on early childhood obesity will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Research Building auditorium. The pediatrics and family medicine departments as well as the Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation are sponsors of the free, public event.
Katz is the director and founder (1998) of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center. He is the principal inventor of the Overall Nutritional Quality Index used in the NuVal nutrition guidance program used in supermarkets nationwide. Along with his wife, Catherine, Katz developed the Nutrition Detectives and ABC for Fitness health promotion programs for schools.
