CWRU’s Eileen Anderson lends expertise for WKYC special hosted by Amy Acton

Just three and a half years ago, Amy Acton became a household name in Ohio as she helped state leaders navigate the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as the director of the Ohio Department of Health. Now, she’s helping the community heal.

Through a new WKYC Studios series called “Health, Hope & Healing,” Acton will tackle health and wellness topics from a science-based perspective. In the first special, airing tonight (Oct. 12) at 7 p.m., Acton interviews Eileen Anderson, the Anne Templeton Zimmerman MD Professor in Bioethics at Case Western Reserve University.

Anderson, whose work as a medical anthropologist addresses how adolescents and young adults adapt to change, will weigh in on the loneliness epidemic. Anderson and Acton spoke on campus in a pre-recorded interview—during which they were greeted by unique guests.
