Case Western Reserve University’s Baroque Chamber Music and Dance Ensembles will be among six ensembles that will perform at Early Music America’s fourth Young Performers Festival June 4-6 in Berkeley, Calif. The Young Performers Festival brings together students and ensembles from colleges, universities and conservatories throughout North America.
The CWRU Baroque Chamber Music and Dance Ensembles will perform Thursday, June 5, at 11 a.m.
The CWRU Baroque Dance Ensemble was formed to provide an outlet for students to learn and perform 17th- and 18th-century dance. The ensemble will perform Elisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre: Extravagant and Intimate Music and Dance including Sonata II in B-Flat Major – Jacquet de La Guerre, La Rossignol – Jacquet de La Guerre, and excerpts from Céphale et Procris – Jacquet de La Guerre. Julie Andrijeski, director and choreographer, Ellen Hargis, vocal and gesture coach, and Sian Ricketts, DMA candidate and assistant director, will lead the CWRU Baroque Music and Dance Ensembles.
