Through a collaboration with the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Cinematheque, participants will have the opportunity to stream three independent films: Test Pattern, Two of Us and Identifying Features.

Test Pattern

Part psychological horror, part realist drama, Test Pattern follows an interracial couple whose relationship is tested after a Black woman is sexually assaulted and her white boyfriend drives her from hospital to hospital in search of a rape kit.
Sarah Ferrato, education coordinator at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, will facilitate a discussion.
Two of Us

Two retired women have been secretly in love for decades. Everybody thinks they are simply neighbors. They enjoy their daily lives together, until an unforeseen event turns their relationship upside down.

Identifying Features

Middle-aged Magdalena has lost contact with her son after he left their town of Guanajuato to cross the border into the U.S. in search of work. Unsure if he is even alive—she embarks on an increasingly dangerous journey to discover the truth. At the same time, a young man named Miguel returns to Mexico after being deported from the U.S. Eventually, their paths converge.
