CWRU to test emergency notification systems July 27

Case Western Reserve University will test its emergency notification systems—including its outdoor speakers—at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27.

The test is being conducted over summer break to reduce its impact on the campus community.

In addition to broadcasting a test message on outdoor speakers across the campus, the university will briefly post test messages on its websites and social media platforms.

All messages sent as part of this exercise will include the word “TEST” up front. In the event that an actual emergency takes place on Thursday, July 27, the university will send messages without “TEST” and recipients should follow the instructions provided.

This test of the university’s emergency notification systems also marks an opportune time for all members of the campus community to check to make sure that their contact information is correct in the university’s system.
