CWRU team wins grant to develop standards education for biomedical engineering curricula

A team from Case Western Reserve University was selected for an educational grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology to incorporate technical standards in the biomedical engineering curricula and beyond. The team is composed of Colin Drummond, professor and assistant chair in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Matthew Williams, assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Daniela Solomon, research services librarian at Kelvin Smith Library.

This grant will allow them to develop standards education modules around specific case studies involving quality systems, software development, and cybersecurity for medical devices. The proposed case studies were specifically selected to be relevant to and adopted by other engineering departments and the University of Mount Union.
