CWRU students write about disparity concerns in Ohio’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution

Case Western Reserve University undergraduates penned an opinion piece about equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine in Ohio published on cleveland.com.

While the state’s vaccination plan does address disparities, seniors Gautham Chitturu, who majors in neuroscience and healthcare management, and Will Schwartzman, a biomedical engineering major, shared their concerns about the plan’s implementation.

Chitturu and Schwartzman are co-leaders and founders of Universal Health Aid Cleveland. Read more about them and the organization’s efforts.

Students Jeanette Herrera, Etaasha Jain, Shamamah Khan, Cecilia Kim, Aubrie Mance and Claire Lee also conducted additional research for the piece, titled “Ohio must ensure fair access to COVID-19 vaccines for minority and low-income residents.”
