The Guardians want to reach younger fans so they paid college students to help
Crain’s Cleveland Business: Case Western Reserve University students James Farmer and Erik Earl beat out 13 other teams to win $3,000 and VIP seats at a 2024 Cleveland Guardians home game in a recent innovation challenge called “The Future of Baseball Fanship,” sponsored by the Major League Baseball team and presented by Weatherhead School of Management’s xLab. Their idea? Digital baseball cards called GuardCards.
