CWRU Rowing Club has strong showing at the Hammer Ergatta

The Case Western Reserve University Rowing Club had a strong showing at the Hammer Ergatta 2016, taking home seven golds, eight silvers and six bronzes.

An ergatta is an indoor rowing competition in which athletes complete a 2,000-meter race on indoor rowing machines. CWRU rowers competed against athletes from other schools, including John Carroll University, Cleveland State University, University of Toledo and University of Cincinnati, as well as against local Crossfitters.

In the women’s open final, the top four finishers were CWRU athletes, and in the men’s open final, the top five finishers were members of the CWRU Crew team.

Many of the team members finished the competition with personal records, including Liam Hoye, who is on his way to breaking the school record time for finishing a 2K.
