Stephanie Griggs, assistant professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, and Estefania Hernandez, graduate research assistant in the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and PhD student in the Department of Anthropology, received the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation 2021 Diversity Supplement Grant.

The grant will be used to support Hernandez’s training in sleep and circadian research (mentored by Griggs). Together, they will work to understand and improve self-management among young adults with Type 1 Diabetes.

“I’m grateful for the nursing research team at Case Western [Reserve] for being welcoming and extremely collaborative with a student outside of the program,” Hernandez said.
