Case Western Reserve University ranked No. 51 among the top 100 universities worldwide granted U.S. utility patents for 2015, according to a report released by the National Academy of Inventors and the Intellectual Property Owners Association.
Using data from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the rankings are calculated by compiling the number of patents on which a university is designated as the first assignee.
The report has been released annually since 2013.
