CWRU mailing lists to be gradually migrated to Google Groups

From department announcements to student correspondence, mailing lists play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of Case Western Reserve University. It is critical that the university use a mailing list system that is modern and reliable.

To that end, Case Western Reserve mailing lists will undergo a gradual migration from Lists@Case to Google Groups in the months ahead. Please note that there is no requirement that mailing lists be migrated to Google Groups prior to the end of the calendar year 2015.

Google Groups meets the university’s needs and is integrated with popular CWRU Google Apps such as Gmail, Calendar and Drive.

Information Technology Services (ITS) soon will contact students, faculty and staff by email about how to transition their mailing lists to Google Groups. At that time, users will be directed to an easy-to-use tool that will migrate their mailing lists from Lists@Case to Google Groups.

Need to make a new list soon? Consider creating it with Google Groups. Not only will this allow the list to bypass the migration process, but it will allow you to explore Google Groups in advance of the migration.

To create or modify a Group today, visit case.edu/its/google/groups, which also will be updated regularly with the latest information about the Lists@Case to Google Groups migration, including how-to guides and other training resources. Information also will be shared through The Daily and email.

For assistance with Google Groups, contact the ITS Service Desk at 216.368.HELP (4357) or help@case.edu.
