Join the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship for a Case Western Reserve University Entrepreneurship Speaker Series roundtable discussion with Alex Derbes (CWR ‘00), portfolio manager at Gilder Gagnon Howe & Co. Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. via Zoom.

He will discuss public investing and transitioning from a career in software engineering to portfolio management.

In 2008, Derbes started as an engineer at Gilder Gagnon Howe & Co. (GGHC), an investment management company based in New York. In 2011, he became a portfolio manager at GGHC, where he manages a portfolio of technology-focused investments. Derbes graduated from CWRU with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in 2000.

Aditya Thakur, who is pursuing his bachelor’s in finance and computer science, will facilitate this conversation.
