CWRU to host center focused on shale study

Crain’s Cleveland Business: The university has created the Center for Shale Energy Research and Education to allow researchers to study different aspects of the region’s shale rush, from economic to environmental effects. “We want to use the expertise of our faculty to make a big impact on some of the major challenges,” said David Zeng, chair of the civil engineering department. Beverly Saylor, associate professor of geology, also weighed in on the new center.
