CWRU community members meet with Sen. Portman

PFLAGCase Western Reserve University community volunteers met with U.S. Sen. Rob Portman on Friday, Dec. 6, in Adelbert Hall to thank him for his support for equality in marriage and in the workplace. The group also discussed suicide-prevention efforts for teens and young adults and related federal grants available for community mental heath initiatives.

Among those who met with the senator were university volunteers with the Cleveland chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG); Sharon Groh-Wargo, professor of nutrition and pediatrics; Jane Daroff and Jes Sellers of University Counseling Services; and Quentin Jamieson, a doctoral graduate student.
