CWRU chapter of New Abolitionist to hold first meeting Feb. 22

Nationally, one in three black and one in six Latino boys are at risk of imprisonment during their lifetime. New Abolitionist is a national campaign associated with the Children’s Defense Fund that seeks to strategically dismantle the “cradle to prison pipeline” and tackle issues of inequality related to poverty, education, juvenile justice and health.

Case Western Reserve University students are among an association of students at other Northeast Ohio universities committed to dismantling the pipeline through community organizing. The founding meeting and elections will take place Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. in Village House 5.
