CWRU alumna Makela Hayford named Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellow

Makela Hayford (CWR ‘18) was named a Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellow and placed in the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability to complete her fellowship. While at Case Western Reserve University, Hayford studied sociology.

Hayford was given one of nine fellowships out of an applicant pool from 18 states and representing 58 colleges and universities. As a fellow, she supports the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and the Sustainable Cleveland 2019 Steering Committee in coordinating strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and branding, outreach and communication, and event planning efforts.

Hayford also is identifying and implementing strategies to engage all Cleveland neighborhoods in the Sustainable Cleveland 2019 celebration.
