Compose a haiku for Kelvin Smith Library’s contest for a chance to win prizes

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to compose a haiku (three unrhymed lines of five, seven and five syllables) for Kelvin Smith Library’s 2019 National Library Week Haiku Contest.

The first-place winner will receive gift cards to both Barnes & Noble and Target totaling $100, and second- and third-place winners will be awarded Case Western Reserve University-branded apparel.

The theme for this year’s haiku contest is “Libraries = Strong Communities.” The contest is open to students and faculty and staff members.

Submissions can be entered through an online form. The deadline to send in an entry is Friday, April 12, at 4 p.m.

A committee of Kelvin Smith librarian poetry enthusiasts will determine the winners, who will be announced Monday, April 15.
