Compliance Office’s monthly privacy-related information sessions to begin July 17

The University Compliance Office will present monthly privacy-related information sessions for Case Western Reserve University employees to learn best practices to apply to their jobs.

The “Speaking of Privacy” information sessions will be held monthly, covering:  general privacy management in higher education, issues on FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), and issues on HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

The first information session, about privacy management in higher education, is Thursday, July 17 from 10 to 11 a.m., in the Toepfer Room of Adelbert Hall. Another session on the same topic will be held Oct. 16 in M2 of Adelbert Hall.

Sessions on FERPA will be held Aug. 21 in the Toepfer Room and Nov. 20 in the Toepfer Room. Sessions on HIPPA will be held Sept. 18 in the Toepfer Room and Dec. 18 in Crawford 720.
