The U.S. export regulations impact many of CWRU’s activities, such as international collaborations, international travel, shipping items abroad, and even transmitting certain types of data to other countries by phone or email.
The Compliance Office has released an Export Control Manual designed to assist in the university’s export compliance efforts. Faculty, staff, and students will use it to maintain awareness of the university’s export policies and best practices.
A component of the office’s training program, the 14-page manual is purposefully brief for ease of use and includes sections explaining export laws, setting out the procedures that CWRU community members must follow, and answering frequently asked questions. It ends with a one-page checklist for individuals to determine whether their activities may be subject to the export regulations.
University community members can access the manual at case.edu/compliance/exportcontrol/.
