“Community Safety and Liberation”

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to attend a panel discussion titled “Community Safety and Liberation” Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom. Part of the Social Justice Institute Think Tank, the event will feature three dynamic experts:

  • Monica C. Bell, professor of law and associate professor of sociology at Yale University;
  • Kareem Henton with Black Lives Matter Cleveland; and 
  • Kevin Truitt, legal advocacy director at Disability Rights Ohio.

Following this discussion, there will be a special theater presentation by local actor Ananias J. Dixon who will perform Dead Wrong by local playwright Lisa Langford. A catered lunch also will be provided.

The Social Justice Institute Think Tank is centered on the theme “A Balm for What Ails Us: Respect. Renew. Reimagine.” All events are free and open to the public.
