Community-Engaged Ethnography on Race and Health: Findings from the ARCHES

Colleen Walsh, assistant professor of health sciences at Cleveland State University, will present “Community-Engaged Ethnography on Race and Health: Findings from the ARCHES” (AmeRicans Conceptions of Health Equity Study) on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Mather Memorial Building, Room 201.

Walsh is a triple alumna of the Department of Anthropology. Her research focuses on racial and ethnic disparities in health, social and cultural capital, and the use of anthropological and political economic models to illuminate the causes of and solutions to health problems associated with urban living. She is currently co-principal investigator for ARCHES, the AmeRicans’ Conceptions of Health Equity Study, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Walsh’s lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
