Community Connections Exchange Program for Belarus – Host Families Needed!

The Cleveland Council on World Affairs is excited to partner with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to welcome 11 social activists and emerging civil society leaders from the country of Belarus on a program called “Community Connections.” This exchange program focuses on advocating for people who are differently-abled through engaging in local initiatives. Visitors are typically between the ages of 22 and 45.

A critical component to this program is home hosting, which allows visitors to deepen their understanding of American culture, values, and home life. We are seeking host families to welcome 1-2 visitors into their home during the program. Options are: full hosting (Friday, July 19th – Wednesday, August 7th) or split hosting (Friday, July 19th – Friday July 26th OR Monday, July 29th – Wednesday, August 7th). Visitors will be engaged in professional programming during work hours on weekdays, which CCWA will arrange. CCWA will also provide transportation to and from said professional programming. We ask that hosts provide their guest(s) with a bed and breakfast foods in the morning. We also ask that their guest(s) be included in family meals in evenings and on weekends.
