Join the communication sciences program’s first-year graduate students for a yoga fundraiser Saturday, April 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center (11635 Euclid Ave.).
Proceeds from the beginner-friendly yoga class will benefit the FaceTime Summer Camp, which is held each summer at the not-for-profit Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center for teenagers who stutter. The weeklong experience allows the teens to implement the speech strategies they have learned all year in a fun, immersive and supportive environment. By practicing their skills into real-life situations with the support of their peers and speech therapists, the teens gain confidence and are able to use their skills outside of therapy.
The funds raised will be used to provide scholarships, educational outings and camp materials for the teens.
The suggested donation for the class is $15. Participants will need to provide their own yoga mat, but free parking will be provided in the gated lot behind the center. Participants should plan to arrive a few minutes early to grab a spot and check in.
Donations may be provided in person at the time of class, or online at chsc.org/facetime.
