Communicating across cultures can be challenging, especially when that communication is happening at a distance or online, as so many interactions are right now.
The Center for International Affairs is teaming up with the Office of Faculty Development to host a Global Talk session to help address and respond to these challenges when working with international students.
Titled “Communicating Across Cultures as Faculty,” the session will be held Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. The event will cover common causes of miscommunication, strategies for mitigating confusion and how to use this information to support international students.
Elizabeth Miller, assistant director of International Student Services in the Center for International Affairs, will lead the session.
Faculty members interested in attending can register on CampusGroups.
