Veterans Day honors the men and women who have served in the nation’s military. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Case Western Reserve will join colleges and universities across the country to honor U.S. military veterans by participating in the national Veterans Day Commemoration and National Roll Call event, scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. outside of Adelbert Hall.
The event will recognize veterans of the university community and feature remarks from Ohio Sen. Frank LaRose, a decorated Army veteran. The ceremony will conclude with a “Minute of Silence” and a remembrance of those service members who have fallen by announcing the National Roll Call at 2 p.m.
In addition, flags and signs will line the binary walkway as part of the university’s tribute and will include a display of American flags as well as flags representing each branch of the U.S. military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard) and POW-MIA flags in tribute to the men and women who either were prisoners of war or missing in action during military conflicts. Signs along the binary walkway will feature statistics about America’s military veterans.
Light refreshments will be provided.
