Christian Science Monitor: Deepak Sarma, professor at the College of Arts and Sciences, said they’re surprised by the intensity of recent legislation to outlaw transgender healthcare in conservative states. “I am scared in a way that I haven’t been before,” Sarma said. “Since I’m genderfluid, people can’t always figure out what my gender is. And in certain places in Cleveland, I feel OK about that. But in other places, I put a hoodie on, and I try to look like I’m, like, more masculine.”
