In honor of National Sickle Cell Awareness Month (September), the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) of Northern Ohio will host a blood drive Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Biomedical Research Building lobby.
Sickle Cell is a rare disease and aligns with CTSC’s research health equity initiatives.
More than 90% of people diagnosed with Sickle Cell are non-Hispanic, Black or African American. A diverse scientific community better understands how diseases and conditions affect underserved communities. The CTSC invites members of the community to donate blood to help advance health equity.
Reservations are recommended for donating blood, not required. Reserve your time slot.
This event is running in conjunction with Translational Science Week.
