Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to a University Hospitals Rainbow Pediatric Grand Rounds Series event hosted by the UH Rainbow Center for Child Health and Policy and co-sponsored by the Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University.
Rebecca Philipsborn, assistant professor of pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine and the Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health in the Rollins School of Public Health, will give the 2023 Leona Cuttler, MD Lecture in Child Health Policy Thursday, Nov. 2, from 8 to 9 a.m. in the University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital amphitheater. Her talk, titled “Climate Justice & Our Children’s Health,” also will be available to watch via Zoom.
Philipsborn, an expert in climate and environmental impacts on maternal-child health, will discuss how pediatricians can support maternal and child health and well-being in the climate crisis. She will share insights about how to build upon the role of a pediatrician in the day-to-day practice of pediatrics to include research that advances climate solutions and advocacy that keeps children’s needs at the forefront. Her lecture will emphasize synergies between pediatric care and climate justice.
