The Institute for the Science of Origins will host a talk titled “Climate Change, Soil, Microbes and Plant Growth—How Does Marama Manage?” Thursday, March 3, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Christopher Cullis, the Francis Hobart Herrick Professor of Biology at Case Western Reserve University, will speak about his research on domesticating the marama bean. Marama that is drought-resistant and thrives in poor soils could be the proverbial magic bean, according to the biology professor and researcher.
