Nikita Mndoyants, the Mixon First Prize winner at the 2016 Cleveland International Piano Competition, will return to Cleveland to preview his Carnegie Hall debut.
His concert will be held Sunday, April 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center.
Mndoyants perform a program of solo works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Prokofiev, as well as Robert Schumann’s magnificent Piano Quintet, Op. 44 with the Omni String Quartet (Cleveland Orchestra members Amy Lee, Alicia Koelz, Joanna Patterson and Tanya Ell).
The Plain Dealer’s Zachary Lewis described Mndoyants’s final round performance at the competition as “pure elegance.”
