Classics Day 2018 to welcome over 100 area high schoolers to CWRU and CMA

CWRU’s second annual Classics Day, hosted by the Department of Classics, the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities, and the Cleveland Museum of Art, will take place on Friday, October 5.

Over 100 high school students from five local schools will participate in a day of ancient Greek- and Roman-themed activities, including workshops on Roman inscriptions and clothing by CWRU Classics professors Paul Iversen and Rachel Sternberg, opportunities to handle ancient artifacts in the Cleveland Museum of Art, museum tours by CWRU Art History professor Maggie Popkin and Classical archaeologist Mark D. Hammond, and a museum scavenger hunt organized by University School teachers Karl Frerichs and Peter Millett.
