President Barbara R. Snyder and Senior Vice President for University Relations and Development Bruce A. Loessin announced that they have named Chris Sheridan vice president for University Marketing and Communications (UMC) and senior adviser to the president.
As chief of staff to the president since 2008, Sheridan has provided advice and assistance on issues ranging from the university’s strategic plan to recruitment of deans and other senior leaders. In her new role, Sheridan will oversee the team responsible for conveying the university’s story to external constituencies and providing information to internal stakeholders.
Before coming to Case Western Reserve, Sheridan spent nearly 25 years as a newspaper journalist, the last dozen as an editorial writer and columnist for The Plain Dealer. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University and a master’s degree in organizational development from the Weatherhead School of Management.
