WKSU: Research by Chris Cullis, chair of the biology department, and Nikki Harter, associate professor of biochemistry, is featured in Exploradio. The researchers are studying epigenetics, which looks at mechanisms other than genes that determine inherited traits. Epigenetics shows that even if DNA is unchanged, other factors can be passed on to future generations, Cullis explained.
