Chemical engineering’s Mohan Sankaran discusses new method of creating nanodiamonds

Nanodiamonds are a researcher’s best friend

The Columbus Dispatch: Mohan Sankaran, associate professor of chemical engineering, developed a method to create nanodiamonds in his lab using argon gas, ethanol and electricity. His work could help in creating tougher materials, and also aid in drug and cancer treatments. “It’s the perfect crystal. It’s one of the hardest materials,” hesaid. “We can make them at room temperature.”
