The Office of Student Activities & Leadership and the Spirit Committee are planning Legacy Week, which will be held April 21–26. Legacy Week is a celebration of the unique history of Case Western Reserve University. The week allows each university department, school, and student organization to celebrate its own unique history within the CWRU historical timeline. Initiatives have ranged from setting up old photos around your office, to displaying a “family tree” of past employees, to creating events for students to participate in.
Host an event
Legacy Week consists of events from various departments and student organizations, which then lead up to Hudson Relays on Saturday, April 26.
The Office of Student Activities & Leadership will compile a list of events to display on its website and on social media. If your office or department is planning any events to celebrate Legacy Week—whether they are week-long, one-day, active or passive—email studentactivities@case.edu by April 7 so it can be added to the list.
Check out some events that were submitted last year.
Social media
If you plan on posting anything related to Legacy Week on any social media accounts, use the hashtags #LegacyWeek and/or #CWRUHistory. If you post on Instagram, tag the Spirit Committee @cwruspirit and your post might be shared.
Poster series
Throughout the week, the Spirit Committee will set up posters that display contributions past and present faculty, staff, and students have made to CWRU and the surrounding community. The organizers want to recognize CWRU’s unsung heroes who have made an impact that others might not know about.
Do you know any colleagues or students who have made an impact, whether here at CWRU or to their community? Submit the nomination form by Monday, April 14, with a description of their impact to potentially have them recognized in the poster series.
