Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics’ Anant Madabhushi wins award for kidney disease research

Anant Madabhushi, the F. Alex Nason Professor II of Biomedical Engineering and director of the Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics (CCIPD), received the Northeast Ohio Renal Research Innovation Award.

The award was for the project “Artificial Intelligence based characterization and prognosis of chronic kidney disease from tissue slide images.” Catherine Jayapandian, a postdoctoral research fellow with CCIPD, is also working on the project as a significant collaborator.

This award, made possible through funding from the Centers for Dialysis Care through the Leonard C. Rosenberg Foundation, represents a commitment to supporting innovative clinical research projects with potential to improve the diagnosis, evaluation and management of kidney disease. The nearly $75,000 grant will support research through September 2020.
