“Censored: Section 230 and the Fight for Free Speech Online”

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to participate in the 2021 Constitution Day Forum “Censored: Section 230 and the Fight for Free Speech Online,” led and organized by the CWRU Society for Constitutional Policy (SCP). The forum will take place through a live-streamed broadcast on the University’s website Monday, Sept. 13, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. ET.

The Constitution Day Forum will feature guest speakers are Danielle Citron, University of Virginia Law School professor; and Jennifer Huddleston, director of technology and innovation policy at the American Action Forum. They will discuss how Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and the First Amendment work to promote free expression online and whether Section 230 is constitutional.  The speakers will answer questions from three political science students- Jack Heneghan ’23, Kenneth Schall ‘23, and Sarah Wu ‘23.  The event’s Moderator, Noah Stein ’22, and the MC, Alejandro Pasquel ’23, are also political science students. Andrew Lucker and Laura Tartakoff, professors of political science, are SCP co-coordinators.

A link to the event will be available Monday on the university’s website.
