Claudia Anderson, assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies, died June 13, 2020 following a two-year battle with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The conditions of the pandemic prevented a remembrance at that time. The family has announced a memorial service/celebration of life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10AM. All who knew Claudia are welcome to attend.
Following 31 years of dedicated service to the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) community, Claudia Anderson, Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies (UGS), retired in January 2020. She began her career at CWRU in 1989 as Director of Transfer Credit Evaluation and Transfer Student Advising.
Throughout her tenure at CWRU, Claudia worked tirelessly to ensure the success of our transfer students, visiting students, and employees taking courses. Claudia was one of the first staff members with whom these students had contact when they arrived at the university. Always a great listener, Claudia eased what can be a difficult transition for students. Every person she spoke with left her office with a positive feeling and confidence in her ongoing support.
Case Western Reserve was an important part of Claudia’s life and she cherished the close relationships that she had with all her colleagues and associates. She is missed every day.
