For our February community outreach initiative, the CWRU English Department is collecting funds to purchase books for Reach Out and Read Greater Cleveland, a local affiliate of a national organization that promotes early childhood literacy through pediatrician visits. To also address our departmental goals of inclusion and diversity, we plan to use donations to purchase books written by a diverse collection of writers, with an emphasis on writers of color. We have a wish list of books ready to go — now we just need your help! To support our effort, please visit our secure giving page, https://english.case.edu/support/giving/ and click the link to donate using a credit card. From there, you will have the option to choose a designation from a drop-down menu: please select “English Department Community Outreach Initiatives.” All funds collected by the end of February will be used to buy books for this project.
