Celebrate the beginning of fall at the Farm Harvest Festival Oct. 5

pumpkinsCelebrate the beginning of fall with this weekend’s fourth annual Farm Harvest Festival. Guests will have an opportunity to see what the university farm’s Farm Food Program has produced for Bon Appétit and all of the cafés on campus.

The festival will feature food, such as vegetarian chili, apples, apple cider, roasted vegetables and fresh salads made with farm produce. Activities will include plant identification contests, beekeeping, a field maze, hayrides, cornhole, Zumba classes and performances.  A map and schedule of events can be found online.

This event is free for students and guests; food is free for students and $5 for guests. The festival will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Squire Valleevue Farm, located at 37125 Fairmount Blvd. in Huntington Valley. Buses will leave from Thwing Center beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Undergraduate Student Government’s Student Sustainability Council. More information can be found on the farm website.
