Celebrate National Midwifery Week with free cupcakes Thursday

For the fifth year in a row, the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing will celebrate National Midwifery Week by giving away 1,000 mini cupcakes—one cupcake for every 10 babies born annually into the hands of certified nurse midwives in Ohio.

The cupcakes, supplied by Main Street Cupcakes, will be made from wedding cake batter with vanilla pink and blue frosting and pink and blue sprinkles.

The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, beginning at 11 a.m. on the Binary Walkway at the corner of Adelbert Road and Euclid Avenue.

Cupcakes are on a first come, first served basis.

National Midwifery Week was created by the American College of Nurse-Midwives to celebrate and recognize midwives and midwife-led care.
